John S. Rendleman, III was born in Carbondale, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1984. Mr. Rendleman returned to Carbondale to attend the Southern Illinois University School of Law and completed his legal education in 1987.
As a law student, Mr. Rendleman became a member of the Order of the Barristers and also received the American Jurisprudence Award for academic achievement in contracts and municipal law. He was active with the All Illinois Moot Court Team which took first place in the 1987 competition. Mr. Rendleman received an award for brief writing and took second place for best oralist award. He also worked as a clerk for Feirich/Mager/Green/Ryan during his second and third year of law school.
Mr. Rendleman concentrates his legal practice in transactional and business organizations, including real estate, business start up, estate planning and commercial litigation. He is a member of the Jackson County, Illinois State, and American Bar Associations, and presently serves as chairman of the Illinois Institute of Business Laws (formerly the Illinois Secretary of State’s Business Acts Advisory Committee). Mr. Rendleman is active in the legal and local communities, and serves as a member of the Jackson County Board.
Mr. Rendleman married Andrea Cowles Eschweiler of Milwaukee in 1988. They live in Carbondale with their four children, Margaret, Eleanore, Alison, and Jane.
